Champion Trees

Recognizing the largest trees in Kansas

The Kansas Champion Tree Program

The Kansas Champion Tree Program is a volunteer-based program that is tasked with measuring and photographing the largest trees in Kansas. This program relies on Kansans nominating the largest trees they may see in their private land, parks, or community areas.

Large trees in the landscape are a charismatic aspect of any landscape. Additionally, historically community gatherings have been around these charismatic trees. Each one of these champion trees, a part of this program, we want to amplify those stories as well.
